Prevent burglary during your holiday
When you leave for your vacation it's important that everything on the destination is arranged perfectly. But at least equally important is leaving your house/possessions behind with ease of mind. The police provide us with some guidelines:

• Ask neighbours to park there car on your driveway now and then.
• Prevent an overstocked mailbox. Ask the housekeeper or neighbour to empty it regularly.
• Turn off gas and water.
• Close all windows and doors and hide keys and spare keys.
• Store away ladders and garden tools.
• Have plants inside and outside taken care off.
• Don't leave spare keys under mats or flowerpots.
• Don't place messages anywhere stating: "We are on vacation until August 3rd.".
• Don't participate in online/phone surveys about your travelling plans.
• Don't mention that you are on vacation on your answering machine.
• Inform family, good neighbours and/or friends when and where you will be on vacation and that they can have access to your home in case of emergency.
